The Journey of a Grace Life

Let me put this question to you: How did your new life begin? Was it by working your heads off to please God? Or was it by responding to God’s Message to you? Are you going to continue this craziness? For only crazy people would think they could complete by their own efforts what was begun by God. If you weren’t smart enough or strong enough to begin it, how do you suppose you could perfect it? Did you go through this whole painful learning process for nothing? It is not yet a total loss, but it certainly will be if you keep this up!

The moment i tell you what to do I set you up for FAILURE. The moment I tell you what JESUS has done I set you up for VICTORY.

■  JUSTIFICATION - Declared NOT GUILTY  - ROMANS 5:1, 5:9, 5:18, GALATIANS 2:16

■ GLORIFICATION - PERFECTED with a new body for ETERNAL LIFE  - ROMANS 8:28-30

Justification and Glorification is by FAITH and FAITH alone, nothing we can do to earn it. However some parts of the Church world have taught (me included) that Sanctification is not by faith but by WORKS in other words we add to the sanctification process by PRAYER, STUDY, CHURCH etc.  The expression 'WE ARE SAVED AND BEING SAVED' is in accurate WE ARE SAVED!

We think that we can achieve HOLINESS by doing certain things but our HOLINESS is not something we achieve but something we come into when we are SAVED!  It's not our HOLINESS but HIS HOLINESS that SANCTIFIES us and SEPARATES us as God's Children.  When am I HOLY? How much do I have to PRAY, STUDY, attend CHURCH before I am SANCTIFIED?

■ ROMANS 6:1, 15 THE KEY ROMANS 8:14

I do not behave HOLY to be SANCTIFIED. I behave HOLY because I am SANCTIFIED IN CHRIST.  If my behaviour does not line up with who I am in Christ than something is wrong with my understanding of who I am in Christ - Here lies the problem.  Changing my behaviour is not going to make me holy but changing my heart will.  Christianity is not BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION, Christianity is HEART TRANSFORMATION.

The POWER of a SANCTIFIED/HOLY life is found in RESTING in JESUS and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IN ME.  Remember it is JESUS who makes me HOLY not what I do and if Christ is really dwelling in me and I am being LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT I will not sin.

JOHN 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

At the heart of this message is the revelation that once I come to Christ and have repented  all of my sins are forgiven and removed past, present and future.  Why is this verse so important? Because the NEW COVENANT of GRACE can not work unless SIN is removed because God can not bless SIN only what is RIGHTEOUS.

ROMANS 6:6 'Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DONE AWAY with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.' 'Done away' rendered inoperative.

ROMANS 6:7 'For he who has died has been FREED FROM SIN.' 'Freed' cleared. ROMANS 6:18 'And having been SET FREE FROM SIN, you became slaves of righteousness.'

PSALM 103:12 He has REMOVED OUR SINS as far away from us as the east is from the west. HEBREWS 8:12 'For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.'

You need a revelation that your sins are constantly being removed and cleansed. There are only 2 definitions of God in the Bible: God is LOVE and God is LIGHT.

1 JOHN 1:5-7 5
This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

All Christians are walking in GOD'S LIGHT (Work, home, school, sleep) Where are you walking when you sin? IN THE LIGHT The only way a Christian can walk in the LIGHT is when their sins have been removed. Christians do not go from darkness to light when they sin even though they can commit 'works of darkness' and to ensure we stay in the light...the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. A man can act like a monkey but it doesn't make him one.

JOHN 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." Getting back to the feature scripture...

JOHN 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

1. 'Takes' - airon - taking away - it's on going - it's constantly being removed.

2. 'Sin of the world' What is it? SIN singular not SINS plural - It's the big one!

JOHN 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

MATTHEW 12:31-32 31
"Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.  To blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to reject Christ as the way to salvation.

3. 'Lamb of God' referred to the sacrificial lamb - EXODUS 12:3 '...every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household'  A young sheep without blemish and it needed to be perfect JESUS.

Jews worldwide celebrate the Passover feast. The feast, which has been kept for generations, commemorates the deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Exodus 12:14 The night before the Israelites left Egypt, the destroyer went through the land killing the firstborn of man and beast. Only those households with the blood of the Passover lamb on their doorposts were spared.

God had told the Israelites, "Take a lamb, a lamb for a household." It was a lamb for each family. This tells us that the Lord Jesus Christ, who is our true Passover Lamb, is for whole families to be saved!

So your children are blessed once you receive Jesus. Your unsaved spouse and grandparents are blessed too, because Jesus is now the Lamb for your whole household.  Your unsaved loved ones will enjoy the blessings of the saved. The Bible says that the sanctified will sanctify the un-sanctified 1 Corinthians 7:14 Yes, they will still need to personally receive Jesus as their Savior, but God has marked them for salvation because you are saved!

Now, each household took a lamb which God said had to be without blemish. Why?  Because the lamb typified Jesus, the true Lamb of God, who is without sin. The lamb was then killed, and its blood put on the two doorposts and lintel of the house Exodus 12:7, such that it speaks of the cross.  Today, the destroyer has to pass over every family that believes in the finished work of Jesus at the cross and puts its faith in His blood, because there has already been a death. The blood proves it—the innocent Lamb for the guilty family!

Jesus also celebrated the Passover the night before He was crucified. But He was instituting the greater Passover. This time, it was not deliverance from Pharaoh and Egypt, but from Satan and his kingdom of darkness!  It was not deliverance from slavery in Egypt, but from a life of bondage to sin to a life of liberty as free men in Christ!

This is why COMMUNION is so powerful as our NEW COVENANT PASSOVER MEAL.  Beloved, Jesus, the Lamb of God, sacrificed Himself to set you free. And when the Son sets you free, you are free indeed!  So when you come to Jesus Christ your sins will be removed by the Blood of Jesus so that RIGHTEOUSNESS can reign in your life and god can only bless what is RIGHTEOUS!
